Leonard "Elwood" Wood  (He/Him)

Founder & Principal Consultant

 

Leonard Wood is the founder and Principal Consultant for L. Wood Consulting, LLC. When not serving clients, Leonard is an Adjunct Instructor with the Florida Center for Public Management’s Certified Public Manager program, part of the Askew School for Public Administration at the Florida State University.

 

Leonard is a designated Master Trainer with the Association for Talent Development and is a certified True Colors facilitator. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology and his Masters in Business Administration.

 

Prior to Leonard’s career in leadership development, he served with the state of Florida for 15 years in various roles, including Organizational and Strategic Development Manager, Training Consultant, Quality Manager, Park Ranger and Wildland Firefighter.

 

Leonard volunteers with several non-profits including the Keep Wakulla County Beautiful Adopt-A-Road program, Wakulla County Animal Shelter, and Second Harvest of the Big Bend.

Julie Wood  (She/Her)

Leadership Development & Training Consultant

Julie Wood is a Leadership Development and Training Consultant with L. Wood Consulting, LLC. Julie knows the importance of designing engaging trainings to develop others and form connection. Julie is a dedicated public servant and has served in a wide variety of training and communication roles with the state of Florida for almost twenty years.

 

Julie is a designated Master Trainer with the Association for Talent Development (ATD), certified Change Management facilitator, designated ATD Master Instructional Designer, and designated Certified Public Manager. Julie also received her certification in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from the University of South Florida.

 

Julie found her passion for public service while serving as an AmeriCorps member during Hurricane Katrina, where she met her husband, Leonard. Julie currently serves as Training Director with the Junior League of Tallahassee and has previously served as Chair of the Leadership Development and Training Committee. Julie has also served as a board member and Vice President of Membership with the Tallahassee Association of Talent Development

Megan Dasbach (She/Her)

Leadership Development & Training Consultant

Megan Dasbach is a Leadership Development and Training Consultant with L. Wood Consulting, LLC. Megan's passion is to bring mental health awareness to the workplace and help individuals recognize the psychological impacts of interpersonal connection.

Megan was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and attended Ohio University for her undergraduate degree in music therapy. Megan moved to Florida to complete her music therapy fieldwork at Florida State Hospital in 2012, where she worked on her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling while providing music therapy and substance abuse treatment services to adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses. During this time, Megan supervised the treatment services at Florida State Hospital, as well as being the director of the music therapy program, the facility’s appointed trauma informed care trainer, and change director for Recovery Oriented Systems of Care. Megan is currently the wellness coordinator for Agricultural Law Enforcement as well as a trauma therapist working with children and families at Camelot Community Care. Megan is also an active Guardian ad Litem volunteer, finishing out her 4th year with the program. 

Megan’s clinical experience includes trauma, anger management, and motivation strategies. Additional certifications include being a nationally certified counselor, a graduate teaching certificate, designated Certified Public Manager, completing certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and certification in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University.

Gaby Vollertsen (She/Her)

Leadership Development & Training Consultant

Gaby Vollertsen is a Training Consultant with a background in Health Sciences. She values health, learning, collaboration and the importance of growing our individual and team skills through professional development.

 

Gaby has served in various state government roles for over ten years with a focus on leadership, training, and professional development. She continually seeks to enhance her skills and is proficient at developing trainings that meets the needs of the organizations she serves.

 

Gaby was raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and attended Florida State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology, minoring in Child Development.

Since then, she has become a certified instructor for True Colors, CPR and AED, Healthcare Provider CPR, Standard First Aid, and NWCG Facilitative Instructor. She recently earned a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University and is a designated Certified Public Manager.

Amy Topol (She/Her)

Leadership Development & Training Consultant

Amy Topol is a Leadership Development and Training Consultant with L. Wood Consulting, LLC. She is dedicated to the principle that building strong resilient team members is the foundation for ensuring organizations are empowered to support the communities they serve.

 

Amy has served in government positions for nearly 25 years with over 12 years at the executive leadership level. She is an Adjunct Instructor with the Florida Center for Public Management’s Certified Public Manager program, part of the Askew School for Public Administration at Florida State University.

 

She is a certified facilitator for Languages of Appreciation and provides training on strategic development, process improvement, employee empowerment, and authentic leadership.

 

Amy holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and a juris doctorate from Barry School of Law. She is a member of the Florida Bar Association. She serves as a volunteer board member for Bay/Flag Credit Union.

Daniel Williamson

Leadership Development & Training Consultant

Daniel Williamson is a Leadership Development and Training Consultant with L. Wood Consulting, LLC. Daniel believes that investing in building strong leaders is essential to building strong organizations.

 

He began his nineteen-year career with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement (OALE) in July 2003 as a uniformed law enforcement officer. Since then, he has been fortunate to progress through the ranks and in August of 2016, was appointed to the rank of Lt. Colonel/Assistant Director.

 

Daniel has served in law enforcement for over 19 years, with over 9 years at the executive leadership level. In his current capacity, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of OALE and the supervision of 236 sworn and 65 non-sworn personnel.

 

He is a designated Certified Public Manager, Certified Fraud Examiner and holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration from the Columbia College of Missouri and a master's degree in Criminology from Florida State University.
